CUBBIES

Picture
The Awana Club for preschoolers is built on two premises:

1.   Young children can and should receive spiritual training.

2.   Home is the primary place for spiritual training.

Our preschool program meets these needs through fun-and lots of it. But Awana is fun with a purpose: to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Foundational Teaching

Bible-centered handbooks and club activities help you children begin to build a solid understanding of the basics of Christianity at an early age. Your kids will reap immediate benefits from their involvement in this exciting program. Just look at what they will learn after two years of consistent attendance and involvement:

·        Approximately 55 memory verses (Up to 120 additional verses if they complete the extra-credit curriculum)

·        Key basic truths about God, Jesus, salvation and the Bible

·        The gospel message and their need to trust Jesus as Saviour

Enrollment and Costs

To be enrolled in the program, your child must be three years old by August 25, 2010.

Yearly dues are $20 for the first child in a family and $15 for each additional child to help cover the costs of handbooks, awards and operating expenses. A Cubbie vest can be purchased for $10 (one uniform can last two years of Cubbies). Soon your child will begin to receive award patches, usually every three weeks. Award patches are displayed on the Cubbie’s uniform vest.

Schedule

6:00 pm – Flag ceremony in the sanctuary followed by restroom break

6:10 pm – song time, birthdays, verse reminder

6:30 pm – story time, game time

7:00 pm – book time, verses and snacks

Parents pick up Cubbies in their classrooms which are located near the church office entrance.

SPARKS

Picture
The Awana club for Kindergarten through Second Grade builds on the material taught in Cubbies. The aim of the curriculum is to take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal saviour while in Sparks.

Immersing kids in God’s Word

The Sparks program is firmly grounded in scripture. The three handbooks feature:

·        Basic truths about God, Jesus, salvation and the Bible

·        A sequential walk through Scripture

·        Details about Bible characters told in captivating biographies

·        A handbook CD with dramatic biography readings, memory verses and more

·        An increased emphasis on scripture memory over Cubbies’ materials. In three years a child who completes the books will learn and review 65 verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine.

·        Clear and consistent presentations of the gospel message

Fun + Learning = Results

Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched kids alike. Club meetings are divided into three segments:

1.   Bible teaching, worship, award presentations

2.   Small group time (memory verse work)

3.   Age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle

Along the way, Sparky the friendly firefly and his three friends have many adventures. Sparky encourages kids to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks.

Enrollment and Costs

To be enrolled in the program, your child must be in Kindergarten, First or Second Grade.

Yearly dues are $20 for the first child in a family and $15 for each additional child to help cover the costs of handbooks, awards and operating expenses. Later “jewels” are earned and displayed on the Sparks uniform vest.

Truth and Training

Picture
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through sixth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T & T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow – today.

Exciting features to get kids excited about God’s Word

·        Four handbooks of increasing difficulty which teach children that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus and it’s ultimate challenge is following Him.

·        A cast of fun characters that boys and girls learn from and follow on interesting journeys in the handbooks.

·        Weekly meetings that expose children to the gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible Study, awards, team-oriented games and gut-busting fun.

·        A Bible-centered curriculum that helps kids build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their heart and apply the truths of scripture to their daily lives.

Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in our third through sixth-grade program. By the time a child has completed the four handbooks, he or she will have:

·        Learned and reviewed approximately 310 verses

·        Studied dozens of passages from the Old and New Testaments

·        Regularly heard and read the gospel message

·        Discovered the Bible’s response to questions like “How does God want me to live my life?” and memorized verses to back up the answers

·        Completed missions projects that help him or her see the world through God’s eyes.

Enrollment and Costs

To be enrolled in the program, your child must be in Third, Fourth, Fifth or Sixth Grade.

Yearly dues are $20 for the first child in a family and $15 for each additional child to help cover the costs of handbooks, awards and operating expenses.
